[PHOTOSTORY] Puggleformer Road Trip!

As you may or may not know, this year I attended my very first Botcon with my roommate Saeru and my girlfriend Dirge! We sold a lot of painstakingly handcrafted merchandise, saw some cool things, met and hung out with some awesome people-- and last but not least, indulged our collective inner Dirges and BOUGHT STUFF.

And hands-down the most precious of all the things we brought home from the con with us was a clutch of Puggleformers!

While the rest of our acquisitions were carefully packed away in the back of Sae's van for transport, the Puggleformers refused to be shut away from the adventure of going home. So they all piled into the front seat with me-- or should I say, on me?-- for the trip back to STL.

They were joined by chubby Scorponok, a very last-minute acquisition on my part as we were packing our stuff to leave the dealer's room. He started out stalking them like the little predator he is, but by the end of the first day of the trip...

...everybody had made nice!

We passed the night at a lovely hotel in Springfield, MO; our new little friends immediately claimed the coffee pot as a jungle gym. Who were we to stop them?

The next morning we all trooped out to breakfast at a Waffle House. We were joined by Shockwave, who'd chosen the ascetic isolation of the back for most of the trip, but was lured out that morning by the promise of waffles.

Dirge, of course, wanted everything on the menu. Both sides.

The hatchlings explore the wide world of condiments!

Shockwave is pleased by his waffle.

Back in the car, puggle!Dirge was claimed by people!Dirge for naps and cuddles in the back seat and the hatchlings found a new perch of their own for the rest of the trip.

When we returned home, the Puggleformers were a bit dismayed to be introduced to our cat, who learned far too quickly how much fun they are to bat around. But they were quick to adapt!

Dirge found himself a nice comfy nest a good five feet off the ground and thoroughly out of the reach of the cat.

Hatchling Rumble immediately homed in on our resident Soundwave, joining him on his lofty perch on top of the wardrobe.

Hatchling Sunstorm has given hiding a try. (We don't have the heart to tell him that camouflage is hard when you're bright yellow and orange.)

He likes hiding, especially hiding in his egg and popping out at people.

Shockwave was glad to realize that his journey doesn't end in this madhouse. We helped him make himself comfortable in his conveyance to his new home, where he will be joining a whole convocation of other Shockwaves-- although none of them are quite so round as him.

Regardless, we hope he's happy in his new home, among his brethren, and we can't wait to see what kinds of adventures our own Puggles are going to get up to here with us!
